Principle: The optical fiber polarization controller generates stress birefringence by winding the optical fiber around two or three circular discs, thereby forming independent wave plates and changing the polarization state of the light transmitted in the single-mode optical fiber. The fast axis of the optical fiber is located within the plane of the winding disk, so the polarization state of any input light can be adjusted by rotating the paddle.
